- ‘Swapping Public Holidays’ is now a no-no – the Supreme Court has over ruled the Act and while employees often request the ‘swap’ (usually to create a long weekend) employers doing so can find themselves paying time & a half and offering another alternative holiday to employees who work on the Public Holiday.
