Parental Leave Guide | |
The purpose of this eBook is to provide the employer with information about the employees entitlements, and guidance to ensure that you comply with your legal obligations.
There have been many changes to the laws relating to parental rights in New Zealand in recent years, and at the time of writing (April 2008), the Employment Relations (Flexible Working Arrangements) Amendment Act 2007 has been passed and comes into force in July, and the Labour government has just announced an intention to introduce new legislation to provide statutory rights for breastfeeding employees. Yet further changes are likely if New Zealand follows the lead of many other OECD countries and other members of the International Labour Organisation.
