Minimum Wage Increase

The Minister of Labour has announced increases to the minimum wage rates, effective from April 1 2011. The adult minimum wage will increase from $12.75 to $13.00. The training and new entrants' minimum wages will increase from $10.20 to $10.40. According to the Minister, the increases together with last year's tax cut have maintained the buying power of their wages.
