Employer Ordered To Pay $42,000 For Not Reporting Health and Safety Incidents

Mondiale Freight Services Ltd was ordered to pay $62,475 for failing to report several serious harm incidents to the Department of Labour (Now called Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE)).

“These were not minor incidents - they involved a crushed foot, a fractured thumb requiring six weeks off work and a fractured rib requiring a month off work" MBIE said.

Even if in doubt about the severity of an injury, immediately phone MBIE on 0800 20 90 20 and report an injury. Also remember to freeze the scene until MBIE allow you to unfreeze the area.
