Our Employment Agreement templates have recently been updated to comply with current legislation in terms of the new KiwiSaver contribution levels since April 1st 2026.
The new minimum (default) contribution rate for both employees and employers is 3.5% rather than the previous 3% unless the employee has successfully requested a temporary rate reduction from the IRD.
While our legal team automatically update our template agreements in our online builders and downloads, if you have your own employment agreement templates in the
Employers Toolbox we do not automatically update those.
We raise this issue with you as these templates may require updating in line with the new legislation. You may have covered this already, but in case you have not we're reaching out to offer support with this if we can help.
